The front room is fabric bolts stacked to the ceiling — nothing labelled, nothing arranged for browsing. Keep going, past the first room and to the left, and that's where the wool starts: roll after roll, bought directly from the mills rather than through a wholesaler.
There's jersey too, and a stock of dress fabric that changes with what comes in. If you want something specific, ask at the counter — the staff know what's on the shelf better than any sign could tell you.
Goldhawk Road's fabric shops don't do window displays. There's no sign telling you what's good, no rail arranged for passers-by — just bolts stacked from floor to ceiling and a lot of ordinary-looking cloth up front. That puts some people off.
